The Damien Fleming academy is the Casey SMCC development program providing
opportunities for promising young cricketers to get on a pathway to Premier Cricket
and beyond.
The program is named in honour of club legend and former World Cup winner Damien
Fleming, who is an active member of the program each year.
Program
The program is run by leading coaches and Victorian Premier Cricket players. It is run
in state of the art facilities at Casey Stadium, Casey Fields and at the recently
redeveloped facility at Ted Summerton reserve in Moe.
It is primarily run as a Winter Program in the Pre-Season phase of the cricket season
and aligns with the Casey-South Melbourne Senior cricket program, allowing players
to train at a high level in a Premier Cricket environment during their development
years. The DFA is the key feeder to the Dowling Shield program and selection for the
DFA provides a player with eligibility for selection in the Dowling Shield Squad.
Participants
Players from ages 14-16 are invited to be a part of the program.
How can I join the DFA?
